After trying another motherboard that was a mistake it seems that my compactflash installation wont boot anymore with all parts that i used before.

Machine says that it "cant find a bootable installation -- insert boot disk and press key".

I am able to boot from my usb installation. And i can fsck the compact flash and everything seems ok with it. I could even a few times load the compact flash installation that i have used for months via boot: "0:ad(1,a)/boot/loader" to load via usb mbr loader to the compact flash. But when i pull the usb key out it will say i dont have a bootable drive. Stupid as i was i didnt copy the configuration via web interface. Now I doesnt seem to boot to anything other thatn usb installation (which i have no configs in).

I also tried to write the mbr with fdisk -B -b ada1 and i only wrote the boot code, but not the partition table. Still i cant boot from the compact flash on its own at all now.

I would like to copy the configuration from the compact flash and try to install again if i dont find other solution by then but does somebody know how to copy configuration directly from the installation that you can mount but not boot from (as i cant use the web interface from the compact flash which has the config)

Im not shure is it a boot0 or boot 1 problem?
