hi,

I got a pair of QLogic QLE2562 for free and try to use them between my FreeNAS 11.1-RC1
and my Workstation (Win10).

Stupid idea?

FreeNAS:
tunables:
- ctl_load/YES/loader
- hint.isp.0.role/0/loader
- hint.isp.1.role/0/loader
freenas_tune.JPG

tasks:
- command/ctladm port -o on -t fc/postinit
freenas_task.JPG

iscsi config done (already in use over lan)

Win10:
- FC cars shows a storage-controller in device-manager
win10fc.JPG

(proper driver installed)

both cards directly connected (8gb led)

now what? :)

thanks in advance

My information could be dated, but the last I checked FreeNAS didn't work over fiber channel.

Plus, they slower than using 10Gig SFP+ network adapters, which I know that works because I have done it.

CrystalDisk benchmark :)

local SSD:
Sequential Read (Q= 32,T= 1) : 546.848 MB/s
Sequential Write (Q= 32,T= 1) : 337.186 MB/s

iscsi (freenas/fiber):
Sequential Read (Q= 32,T= 1) : 823.458 MB/s
Sequential Write (Q= 32,T= 1) : 682.653 MB/s

but:
- only 1 Port, no LA possible
- card installed on PLIex4 (limited data rate)

Would you mind giving as much detail as possible about how to get this working so others might find it in the future?
