Yeah, I edited my post a few minutes after I posted to mention the package forwarding; you might have looked at it before that. The turnkey system from DFW Parts Depot does seem like a good deal, even compared to other C2100s I see on eBay US. For just one thing, its 32 GB of RAM is in 4 x 8 GB DIMMs, leaving lots of space open for extra RAM. IIRC, those machines have 18 DIMM sockets, so you could go to 144 GB.

I just checked on www.shipito.com, and it looks like they'd charge about $160 to ship the server to Amsterdam, assuming a shipping weight of about 50 lb. A Google search for "package forwarding to europe" comes up with lots of hits, and they're the first one. viabox.com estimates about $200; amforward.com estimates $175--all of these rates are in US Dollars, of course. I don't have any personal experience with any of these companies; they're just what came up on a Google search, but they should give you an idea.

I use shipito. Better than com gateway.

I never like not knowing how much it's actually going to cost until the package is there.

If you can find the packaged dimensions and actual weight from the vendor, then I think you can get an accurate quote.

You may have to pay some sort of customs at your border.

So I am looking into this machine and if I understand correctly I can use SAS drives in this.
just found 7 of WD RE WD4001FYYG, 4TB 150 euro a piece (new 287 euro).
Before I buy am I correct that because of this component LSI 9211-8i Ver. P20 it can use Sas drives?
kind regards,
Guido

FWIW, when I quoted 50 lb in a 24 x 36 x 9 inch box shipped to Amsterdam, shipito.com quoted about US$160. I'm pretty sure those dimensions are going to be pretty close to reality, having had a couple of 2U items shipped to me recently, and I doubt the weight will be much, if any, under 50 lb.

Sure, feel free to ask. I'll be sure to try and help.
I think it should, but I've honestly never tried. I think @Mirfster has used SAS disks in one of his C2100s, though.
Yep, one has 12 x 4TB HGST NL-SAS Drives. Works fine.

Of course, just because you can use sas drives, doesn't mean you need to.

I know but if I can find a nice price arent they way better?

Well, that's probably debatable, I wonder if there will be a debate ;)
