I maxxed out my internal case with 6 drives, so I just added a 7th drive via a new Sans Digital TR4M+BNC eSATA enclosure and port muiltiplier card.
Problem is, when I go to "view disks" or add volume, the drive is not being seen by Freenas. I verified that my PC sees the new drive on bootup, but freenas isn't even creating an ada for it.
It sees my Mediasonic ProBox HP1-SS3 PCI-Express 2.0 port multiplier card...
Jan 26 01:07:30 freenas kernel: pmp0: <Port Multiplier 38261095 1706> ATA-0 device
But then when the disks are listed, the new disk inside the enclosure doesn't even show. I verified that it's in the proper bay (bay 1) of the 4 bay enclosure...I realize some people might put it in the wrong bay but according to my tests, it's right.
The drive in the enclosure is brand new and unformatted, is it possible I need to put that drive in another system and format it in something first, before FreeNAS can see it?
Thanks for any help. Happy to show any other portions (or all) of the boot log if it might help.
Thanks folks!
