So I've upgraded the system to 9.10.1, and system information shows it.. but now every time I try to apply the most current updates from the stable environment. I get a message that I need to activate the 9.10.1 environment and restart so it takes into effect.

Its acting like I never actually installed the update. (but obviously I did)

Have you followed those instructions yet? Some updates are more complicated due to changes to the updater or boot code.

Yup.. I've followed all the instructions, activated the boot "partition" where 9.10.1 is installed (the only one actually) and rebooted.. and no matter what, it keeps thinking that the old system is running (despite the fact that the new one is actually running)

Ok, the new update should be out today, if all goes according to plan. If the messages continue after that, just reinstall FreeNAS (backup your config, etc.) and that should get rid of the messages.

I've been trying to NOT reinstall FreeNAS (given I'm using a large number of plugins, VM's, etc...), but if that is the only way to resolve this issue, then I'll wait until 10.x.. because its going to take some time to prep.
