Hello, my freenas- install stops the output to the Monitor with the "booting"-text on the blue background (see attached image). Firt I thought the system hangs, but Freenasloads an works like a charm! It ist really only the monitor-output that hangs. The system is:
OS Version:
FreeNAS-11.2-U2
(Build Date: Feb 14, 2019 20:8)

Processor:
Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU J1900 @ 1.99GHz (4 cores)

Memory:
8 GiB

HostName:
Backup.xxxxxx

Uptime:
1:49PM up 7 days, 18:44, 0 users

this behavior is since the Upgrade to Freenas 11.2.

My goal ist to see all output to the Monitor, like normal.

Thanks for your help!

Really sounds like some sort of vt() problem with the new virtual terminal driver. This isn't that shocking as there are tons of exceptions and special cases needed to make some of the newer stuff work correctly. :-/

Thanks for the long list there, but the brand of board and model number would have been enough and I could look the rest up instead of you needing to type all that out.
I agree with @jgreco and think this might need a bug report so the development team can have a shot at making an adjustment to the software.

Are you familiar with the process of creating a bug report?

Not related to the video situation, but this is a poor NIC for use with FreeNAS.
When you are ready to replace this, you should look at the hardware recommendations here:

Thank you, chris Moore. I didn´t type that out, only copied it from the brands Homepage. This is a vey old board and this server is a ZFS-replication target and additional samba4 DC. It will be replaced soon...

No need to go with latest generation gear, but I would suggest a server board just for the advantage of remote management with IPMI.

And server boards typically do VGA, and server VGA is a non-problematic sort of thing.

Hi,

I've the same issue that becomes from the upgrade to 11.2 and now at 11.3. What is strange is that the installation from the iso file works ok without any issue. I think that this can be solved by a parameter on grub file. What para meter is my doubt...

Regards,
