Hi there,We didn't setup this system, we ordered it on amazon and it came pre-configured from iXsystems. And before I had this issue with the software upgrading, I still don't know what ZFS means, and I only just learned the term "resilver" when one of my drives failed this past week. If I had known how complicated it was to restore the software, I would have opted for something different and more user friendly.
You'll find now that you have an updated TrueNAS on your system these problems shouldn't be a little less painful going forward, the new system is easier to update and has a better user interface.
The important thing is thanks to ZFS and TrueNAS your data is still there, despite even a drive loss.
Hopefully no more issues going forward. I've been using it since 2014 and it's done me well.
