I'm a little new with some terminology, so i'll do my best...

So I want to setup the FreeNAS so that it will house my Vmware VMDK files and also be able to access files from my Windows 10 Home machines. They can be on different shares.

I know that my version of Windows does not support NFS.

If possible.. I was thinking of setting the drives up with NFS and CIFS. Each in separate datasets or partitions.. Not sure exactly how to say it...

Setup a dataset for VMware. Create a share with NFS on it.

Setup a dataset or multiple datasets and create CIFS shares on them.

Done. Nothing crazy about that.

Great... I figured it could be done.. Just wanted to make sure before taking the plunge...

Now to figure out what I can afford.. :)
