Hi,
my FreeNAS was on a USB stick and it has died. My JAILS are on the disk arrays. Can someone direct me to instructions on how to import my JAILS?

The only thing I can find online is in german

thanks
Paul

The only think you should need to do is set the correct jail root under Jails -> Configuration. As I understand it, FreeNAS should then automatically recognize the jails.

Edit: Of course, if you have a backup of your config file, just upload that and you'll be set.

Thanks for the advice that is great.
Unfortunately this is the first time that it has happenned to me and now 'lesson learned' and I'll backup my config in future.
Also, will the 'auto recognise' work with the phpVirtualBox jail too?

I could be wrong, but I think freenas started backing up your config for you into your .system dataset. I'm not sure what the preferred method to update using this is.

Thanks to both of you. I've got everything up and running again in about 30 mins with a simple reinstall. This brilliant system imported my volumes, then my jails. All I had to do was set some system preferences and create a share and I'm back to where I was before.
So happy. I've now made a backup of the config database.
