I'm having problems with freenas 8.2 x64

I was wondering if I could remove one of the hard drives and put it in a Linux machine. Would Linux be able to read the files? The drive are in a zfs raid. I would like to back everything up to a separate drive and then try to fix my freenas box. I'm afraid I am going to loose my files.

Thx

No, that won't work. You could boot from a FreeBSD CD/DVD and import your pool, then do a scrub. Of course if you have a hardware problem that won't really help either.

You could disconnect ALL of your drives (both power & data cables), then fix the problem. FreeNAS doesn't care which order they are reconnected later.

Thanks I'll give it a try.
