FreeNAS: Can I set it to work both Online and Offline?

My rural Internet connection is not very reliable, so I'd like to be able to access my files from my home wireless network when Internet is down, and from the Internet. Is this doable?

I'm not clear on the first part of what you're looking for. If you're on your local LAN with your FreeNAS, you can access you router wirelessly, but leave FreeNAS on ethernet. No problem, doesn't matter what the internet is doing.
