Wussies! I got 60TB of RAM. I store my pool in RAM with backups to my 6TB drives. :D

Can take 6TB memory (96 DIMM's on risers) and 60TB/6TB is only ten servers. At 4U high, easy to cram 10 into a rack. It's the 16 kilowatts of power that'd be a problem.

I thought that the amount of RAM supported looked rather puny. For some reason, ark showed 1.5TB maximum for the first Xeon E7 v3 I clicked on.

Yeah but can't they be used together in sets of 4? That would give you 6TB of ram.

Ummmm.... well duh. The E7 v3, just as all the other high end Xeons, top out at 1.5TB, but when you put four of that in a server, ....

I just configured a $2 million server. Crappy thing only has 19TB of disk space but damn it can store most of that in ARC.
