Hello Everyone,

I'm a windows boy making the transition to FreeNas. I used Windows Server 2012 R2 for almost 4 years, it was rock solid. I recently had a Seagate drive fail, and decided it was time to revamp the entire server.

Long story short, I purchased 8x 5TB Toshiba drives and decided it was time to move from hardware raid to software raid. I've always wanted to try the ZFS filesystem, and figured FreeNas would be the best way to do it.

Setup was pretty straight forward, a little bit of playing around with the jail storage, user permissions, and CIFS service and everything was GREAT. Pretty straight forward.

$$$ Thanks to Joshua for posting the UIDs for each of the plugins $$$

My Question:

I spent 2 hours yesterday playing with Sonarr and Sabnzbd. For some reason my file would download then disappear.

I can see the Jail size for Sabnzbd grow, then get moved to my corresponding DATASET. Permissions are working. But immediately after "moving" the file would disappear, and the dataset size would revert back. A quick ssh, and ls confirmed the file was missing.

I realized that Sonarr was deleting the file, I disabled its renaming functions, failed download delete, etc. Anything post processing by Sonarr was disable, and that fixed my problem. I decided to use Sabnzbd post processing functions and everything seems fine.

Has anyone else had this issue? Its is wildly bizzare!!

Seems to me like something you will have better luck getting answers to on the Sonarr forum. Maybe check the logs and see what's going on, but i'm not sure where to look for the Sonarr logfiles, i don't use it myself.

Sonarr logs are in /var/db/sonarr/logs/. You should start there. By default sonarr copies files from their download directory to the sonarr monitored directories. If you left the default sonarr wasn't deleting anything. There are settings to delete original after import but you have to force those.

In sonarr the only thing I change is to use hardlinks and not copy. Other than that a default configuration should work for most people.

I was having all sorts of problems with Sonarr this weekend.

I ended up deleting the plugin, grabbing the pbi, and then installing it in the same jail at Sab.

This fixed all my problems.
