FreeNAS 11 extents

Hi forum , I'm preparing a FreeNAS 11-u2 to work with proxmox over iSCSI to 10GB for HA , I have two switch NETGEAR ProSAFE 8-Port 10-Gigabit for multipath , but I have a doubt when I am creating extents in iscsi, I do not know if I choose Extent Type: "Device or file", to this freenas will access 3 proxmox servers with 10GB network cards.

Which one could have the best performance?

I have two volume with disk SAS 10K over RAID 10.

Is this not in the manual? Device extents are significantly faster and have been for quite a while.
