Friends a question can I format my System without backing up my files?

Remembering that my system is a HD and my files are from another HD.

The question would be can I turn off my data HD, format the system then turn on the data HD will I have access to my files normally? or will I need to format it for Truenas to recognize it?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks

If you want to do a rebuild of your boot pool (the system), then just boot from install media and elect to install over it.

Back up your config first so you can upload it after if needed (depending if the install picks it up or not automatically).

As long as you can identify your boot and data disks in a list during the install process, there's no need to back up your pool for that operation (no more than usual, in any case).

Glad to hear that, thanks a lot for the reply!

So I just format my HD that contains Truenas, and after the system starts my HDS with the files will be there intact to access them?

Thanks again for the help!
