Howdy! I've finally rebuild my NAS using more recommended hardware, and added a few more drives when creating a RAIDZ2 pool, for added redundancy.

Wouldn't you know it, over the weekend and this week one of the brand new drives has 40 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors... It started at 2 sectors, then went quickly to 30, then 38, and now 40... It's been stable at 40 for 2 days now.

My question is, is there a way I can force the reallocation to occur so that I can clear this error, or should I just call WD and RMA the drive?

You can force the reallocation, but if you run a smart test it'll fail.. that will qualify for an RMA.. woohoo.

I'd do the RMA though, it's faster and easier, plus if it's racking up problems its only going to get worse.

Thanks @cyberjock. That's what I figured. I put in for the RMA this morning.
