Hello all,

I've said this before in the above post, but I'm not an academic and more or less learnt most skills 'hands on' (I don't like that expression, but hey ho).

I've been tinkering with my FreeNAS test config a lot lately, probably should have been working, but what a wonderful system it is. I've been utterly horrible to it (pulling drives in various pool layouts, etc.) but it just keeps going. I have a long list of to-do's and to-buys, but there's a part of me that thoroughly enjoys it...is that weird?

If anyone that's as wet behind the ears (inexperienced, UK expression) as me, I would strongly recommend getting a cheap batch of used hard drives and learn your mistakes on them, before committing precious data. As it's been said many times already by the Guru's, it's not something you can casually use - unless you don't mind losing your bits and bytes. Absorb the pinned posts, there's a wealth of information there written by incredibly competent people.

All the best and may you stay Corona free.

Chris
