Ive read the stickys and a bunch of threads containing questions regarding the Supermicro X10SL7-F and still haven't found an answer to my question. Ive found threads explaining how to flash it but my question is more basic I guess.

When I receive my motherboard, in order to flash it into IT mode I understand this is done from a USB. Is this done on a USB before freeNAS is setup?

Also what guide would you guys recommend to use when flashing?

It has to be done from a DOS and/or EFI shell.

On the X10SL7-F, it'll have to be the EFI shell, but you may have to erase it first, which some say only works in DOS.
