to close this thread - the issue was cleared with re-installing my nas to latest release and everything showed up right. No issues to my M1015's.
In the end - based on all your feedback I got 2 x M1015 flashed to IT to run 16 of my HDD's smooth. 8xWD Red\Purple on Z2 and 9xWD Purple+Seagate Z3
