Ok, I am doing my second FreeNAS box. The last one had the SuperMicro X10SL7-F mobo, and this one has X10SLL-F mobo. I was going through the same procedures that I used to set up the other one and when I got to the part about Ctrl-C to see the LSI controller, that didn't come up. I don't think this board has the LSI controller to flash to IT mode. It dosn't have the SAS ports liek the SL7, so that would make sense.

My question is: Do I have to do anything to this bios wise before I install FreeNAS?

Do I assume that the regular SATA ports can be properly accessed by FreeNAS as is?

Thanks,

Kirk

There is no controller on that board to flash. Plug your drives in and install FreeNAS.

OK, that is what I was thinking. But just thought I would verify. Cool! New FreeNAS box going be just for all our movies. Pricey way for the kids to watch Barbie Princess, but is gonna be cool. Only going to do ZFS-1 because I will have all the files backed up to my other FreeNAS which is bigger and ZFS-2. :)
