Does your router have DHCP running?

If you have a non-Intel NIC on your board, that could be the issue. Do you have access to an Intel NIC for a quick cross-check?

1. Try to set you network again using option 1. Reset and DHCP again if you have dhcp server.
2. Manual add ip settings and try to ping the gateway.
3. Whath ChrisRJ said is true, got that in my test bench, eventually nic worked after lets say 5-6 resets
4. If none of that works you can try FreeNas Scale, if that is option for you.
