I bought a SAS2308 (LSI 9207-4i4e) from here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/144117441166 from this seller: https://www.ebay.com/str/lauruscorpncrx. They were kind enough to throw in a half-height bracket for free. I thought I found a new old stock one on Amazon, but the seller was lying/mistaken and I returned it.

I wonder how long these HBA cards hold up.. They can get pretty hot.

Might find something useful on this page: https://www.supermicro.com/en/products/storage/cards. Though, most of the Supermicro cards are Broadcom. Are there issues with Broadcom drivers (as is the case with Wi-Fi), and should one prefer LSI?

Broadcom owns LSI. You'll also come across the name Avago... They're all under the same umbrella.
