feature request - mount cdrom and usb drives

I imagine many people could benefit from FreeNAS being able to auto-mount and share pluggable devices, such as CD-ROMs, USB flash drivess and other external usb hdds...


I imagine it wouldn't be too much trouble to add some functionality like that ?

There could be some generic mount points, such as /mnt/cdrom and /mnt/usb
It could help for faster transfers of large amounts of data as compared to using the network for everything. The way it is set now, the DVD-rom is sitting idle and can't be used, my USB 3 ports are also useless while many other NAS solutions and simple routers have USB-storage capabilities...

Went to request this but see its already been requested over half a year ago... this seems like a basic feature, cant believe its not included yet.

Check if there's a request ticket on support.freenas.org and if not, make one. That's will give it a better chance of getting attention.
