I just went through this exercise trying to increase throughput for my backups. I tried all combinations I could of 6 10-TB WD Hellos Drives. By far the best was 2 RAID Z or 3 drives each striped. Look out for CPU as I'm hitting 60% with i7-7820X. I'm hitting 4.8 Gb on my 10-Gig network. 3 mirrors only hit 2.8 Gb. I was surprised. I expected what Patrick stated. I have 32-Gb RAM
