After Upgrading to FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201505130355 I recieve the error

notifier: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/smartd: WARNING: failed to start smartd

and iam not able to start SMART. As I have seen in the log file there is additional information:

/usr/local/etc/smartd.conf parsed but has no entries (like /dev/hda)

A short look in the smartd.conf let me know, that this file is really empty. Creating a new SMART Test in FreeNAS does not change anything.

Can somebody help me please?

thx

Please create a bug report and post the issue number here. If you do so from System -> Support, it will include your hardware and debug info. Note that you need to have a login account at bugs.freenas.org before using the built-in reporting system.

After you have turned on SMART under Services and established scheduled SMART tests under Tasks, if the problem isn't solved then reboot your FreeNAS. Do you still have the same issue?
