There's *tons* of things you should do. The best advice i can give though is to use the manual and read it cover to cover.
As for the SMART parameters, if you understand what they all mean you can put together a scenario of what is going on. It's like looking at your dashboard, seeing a full tank of gas, the engine temp is overheating, and you have an engine warning light. Well, it's clear you have an engine problem and the engine is overheating. :P
