expansion of virtual disk with freenas

Hey folks,

just recently discovered about freenas, and was just considering using this instead of just creating an ftp server :)

I installed freenas on a virtual machine environment, and initially allocated with 500GB, how easy for me to expand this space, if say, i added another 500GB on it?
do i have to create another virtual disk? or just expand the existing 500GB disk?

will it automatically reflect inside Freenas?

If you have to ask those questions you have no business running FreeNAS in a virtual environment.
