error unable to upgrade connection: container not found("openvpn")

i am a noob and first post here :smile:


I am attemting to connect qbittorrent to openVPN(never used it before) and i was watching a video by

The qbittorrent is working normally and when i am attempting to setup OpenVPN i get the following error.

what is that OpenVPN setting authentication username and password( no idea what i need is it my login information for router or do i need to signup to something else)

The file below was stored in /mnt/MyPool/vpn/OpenVPN/au_sydney.ovpn

The username and password is just the username and password for your VPN service. So if you're using PIA, it's your user credentials for PIA.

Partially related since it's something to add for the next person searching for the "container not found("openvpn")" issue:
I encountered the same thing, even though the config was certainly correct and the credentials present which is when I found this thread. The problem in my case was that I had another client coincidentally connected to the same server at the time. Which will of course cause the new VPN connection to fail.
So in case you run into this, check other devices using the same service/account and make sure there's no duplicate connections, which might save you an hour of troubleshooting.
