Error logging - where is that?

I have configured a Freenas 8.3, and shared storage which is authenticated via Active Directory. The domain controller is a Small Business Server 2011.

When I transfer large files to Freenas from a Windows 2008 Server R2, the transfer stops, Windows reports it cannot see the Freenas server.

Does Freenas log the errors, and if it does, where can I find them?

I believe all of the logs are in /var/log.

Thank you noobsauce80 for the advice.

I went through your guide, and decided that the server needed an Intel NIC. It is ordered, so look forward to installing it, and reinstall Freenas.
