Encrypted Volume Re-Key?

I recently changed my boot drive from a mirrored-USB to an SSD.

As I already had six hard drives in RAID-Z2 configuration and my motherboard only has six SATA ports, I needed to add an LSI SAS 9207-8i controller card to add another SATA slot (I also want to add another VDev down the road).

This all went fine, but when booting up my NAS and inputting my old encryption passphrase, "Error" appeared at the top in the FreeNAS GUI and the volume wouldn't unlock. Cue immediate panic. Thankfully, I was able to unlock the volume with the previously downloaded recovery key.

Any time I reboot now, the old encryption passphrase still doesn't work (though I'm certain what I'm inputting is correct), but the recovery key continues to work without issue.

My question is: what exactly do I need to do to be able to use the passphrase again going forward? I'm presuming I just need to use the "Change Passphrase" facility and re-encrypt the volume, but this encryption business makes me nervous and it'd be great if someone could clear this up for me a bit.
