Emby server not finding cast devices and DLNA not functioning.

Hello,

I have two issues at the moment with my emby server.

1: I have installed the plugin, activated DLNA and the server is not discovered on the network by my home theater or any other DLNA device.

2: When i press the cast button from within the web it doesn't show any of my cast devices. From my own computer I see the Chromecast, the nest hub and the nest mini.

I have a feeling it has to do with settings in the jail and not the emby server itself.

Andre.

Ow one more thing, had the same issue with Plex Media Server.

VNET turned on? I know from Jellyfin on FreeBSD that not having VNET on in your jail can cause issues with DLNA

Yes, NAT and VNET turned on. Cannot do DHCP as i only have one network adapter in my machine.

Have done NAT port forwarding for 4 ports.
TCP 8096 for webpage
TCP 8920
UDP 1900 for DLNA
UDP 7359 for network discovery

Have given up. Now running an Ubuntu server as VM with NFS to the media share. Works like a charm.

Not confirmed solution, but (I hope) a path to it :
I've the same kind of issue, and it seem's to be block by design by kubernete. For DLNA we need broadcast on UDP 1900, but kubernete network block broadcast
In Docker we solved this by assigning a dedicated IP on the network. In Truenas Scale we have in advanced configuration "Add external Interfaces" with option to assign a physical interface/IP.

with my research, I confirm that DLNA is not supported (as not compatible by design) by kubernettes

Hello! I dont know, but i cant find any solved threads with that problem. Truenas Scale -> Emby App installed. And DLNA wont work.

And another nice moment. Can you say me please, how i need to beat this xDD -

I confirm sadly that it can't work on kubernete. I had to build a VM hosting docker to solve this
