Hi all, I'm trying to install FreeNAS-11.1-U6 on an old Packard Bell imedia S2100 (processor AMD E-1 4 GB RAM 1 TB SATA disk). I know this is not an hardware good for FreeNAS (I will chnage it for a production system). I would like to try out FreeNAS before to put it in production. I've copied FreeNAS-11.1-U6.iso on a USB stick and tried to boot from it. When I see the list of the bootable devices I see (among the others):
Booting this device does not work. The only error I see is:
as documented by this image:
Then I've tried to boot from FreeBSD-11.2-RELEASE-amd64-memstick.img (I think FreeNAS and FreeBSD are runnong from the same or similar kernel) and in this case the list of bootable devices (among the others) is as follows:
If I boot the first devices I'm able to install FreeBSD, while booting the second devices it returns the same error as above (no installation is possible),
So my question is: when installing FreeNAS why the non-EFI device does not show up?
Many thanks in advances.
Regards.
EFI: KingstonDataTraveler 2.01.00
