Good evening

I installed home assistant on Truenas Scale and enabled "Custom Host Path for Home Assistant Configuration Storage Volume ".
I can see the configuration.yaml file in my SMB share but can't read or edit the file.

is there a way to change the permissions of the configuration.yaml file?

If you need more informations let me know.
(I'm a beginner)

thanks for your reply

but I was able to get it working. I deleted the app and the share.

-I created a new dataset
-installed the app with "Custom Host Path for Home Assistant Configuration Storage Volume " enabled (choosing the newly added dataset)
-changed the Permissions (user: the user who needs access group: left group user as it was) check the box: „Apply permissions recursively“
and „Apply permissions to child datasets“ I didn‘t use the ACL and I‘m not sure if it makes a difference
-now I added it to my smb share and I was able to edit the files
