ECC Memory

Hi All

I am looking to upgrade my Synology server to Truenas Scale.
I have read som thread regarding to Non-ECC and ECC memory.
And found that it was a nice thing with the server having a copy of all documents and photo of mine.

The question is:
What if I can find 1X8 gb or 2X8gb sticks, could I buy exacly the same twice.
And double the memory, I don't know much about this?
The price of 4x8gb is high and not easy to get?

I would have to say that entirely depends on your Synology hardware. Maybe you should visit a Synology Forum to ask that kind of question.

But you are correct, some people have been able to install TrueNAS on a Synology system.

Sorry, I meant buying new parts to build a new server with Truenas Scale.
- Nice to know that I can do that ;D
