First, you need 8GB of RAM minimum just so that the WebGUI doesn't malfunction left and right.

Second, that error often is because your hard drive controllers aren't set to AHCI.

Thanks for your reply!

Ok, let me upgrade this for more performance, thanks!

But this should no problem for the volume issue?
Controller is set to AHCI (see Screenshot)

Do you got some more tips?

WD EACS? Holy crap, those are ancient.

Can you try with different drives and/or validate that the current ones are working?

Haha yeeeeah...you're right

Yes, I will connect another drive and will test, if the drive is visible.
The ancient ones are working when I will connect them via external case -> USB.

Before I install Freenas, I've installed Windows Server on these HDD's. Maybe thats a problem.

Thanks!!!

Doesn't explain the timeouts, though.

It could be that the USB/SATA bridge is masking the problem, somehow, making them look like they're working.

So when I connect the hdd's external with my mac. Its say's that the drives can not be accessed.
So I formatted these drives and checked them..seems to be ok.

Volume „without titel“ check
Checking volume.
Checking main boot region.
Checking system files.
Volume name is without titel .
Checking upper case translation table.
Checking file system hierarchy.
Checking active bitmap.
Rechecking main boot region.
Rechecking alternate boot region.
The volume without titel appears to be OK.

There are formatted on Exfat right now, I will insert these drives now back to the freenas server and will continue this story.

Same problem..the hdd's are working fine. But not in the freenas server.

Any ideas?

Did you take my advice? We've had a dozen or more examples of people that couldn't create volumes with hard drive *just* because they didn't have 8GB of RAM.

Yes, I've ordered some more RAM. In the while I've tested NAS4Free who need not that much hardware performance..same issue:

I don't. Frankly as soon as someone says they are using an AMD machine I rapidly lose interest and ideas because AMDs can cause problems that I willingly choose not to deal with or get involved in. It's not a secret that AMD and FreeBSD have never had a great loving relationship.

All that being said, I think that motherboard is the same one that one of our regulars uses, so I'd expect it to work. But why yours isn't working or how to make it work is beyond me. AMDs have always been a nightmare for me and so I refuse to even fix AMD based desktops because I seem to always break them more than when they show up at my house. Give me an Intel system and I can fix those all day long.
