I have just installed Truenas. The boot drive shows up fine but my 2x8tb drives(which are in a raid1) is only showing with the size of 0b. When i try to do smatctl -a /dev/sda it said "unable to detect device type .I have been trying some things for the last hour from this forum but nothing helped. The drives show currectly in BIOS. thx in advance

You will need to be more specific. Do you mean you set up some sort of hardware RAID or fakeRAID? If so, don't.
they are in a hardware raid. i tried deleting the raid for testing. The results stayed the same...
