I was curious how draid compared to raidz when it comes to in-service read/write performance, not just rebuild performance.
I haven't found an article on that, and would love a link. I did find this slide: https://sc18.supercomputing.org/proceedings/tech_poster/poster_files/post185s2-file2.pdf
That shows, for a small draid (comparable to one raidz vdev), slightly better performance when pool is empty, and considerably less degradation as pool fills.
For larger draids, they outperform a multiple-raidz pool in every day use as well as rebuild, by the figures on that slide.
