Double check my hardware please

Hello I read the hardware guide and tried by best to follow it. Hopefully I didn't mess something up. Here is my hardware.

Motherboard

I understand this isn't the cpu the hardware guide mentions, but I couldn't find anybody selling that Haswell i3 for a reasonable price.

I had a really difficult time finding memory. I put this model number into the ram compatibility checker on super micro's website and it says it's compatible.

All looks good. Just one question, why not go with Skylake?

Skylake was more expensive. The cpu cost the same but the motherboard and ram cost more.

There might be some merit to having access to TWICE the RAM on your motherboard down the line... rather than buying a completely new system from scratch.
Run the numbers. Start with 1x 16GB stick on Skylake.
Just think about it a bit. What is cheaper now may prove more expensive rather soon.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to start with 16g of ram and if that isn't enough I'll upgrade to 32. I know that skylake supports twice that but I simply cannot afford more ram. So I'm not too concerned about going with haswell.

Newegg has a good deal on the Supermicro Skylake boards. Got to pick up a X11SSM-F (seems to be popular) for 185.00.
