Hi

I have a super micro board (x10SLM-F) and created a USB Stick with the latest Image (FreeNAS-9.1.1-RELEASE-x64.img)
It boots, but ends up in "mountroot>" without a working keyboard (the keyboard itself works fine during boot process / bios)

I search the net but can't really find a solution for this.
Am I missing something?

Thanks

Andre

How are you writing the image? From what OS? Probably a bad USB? Using USB 3 or 2? If 3(XHCI) switch to 2(EHCI).. Never (EVER) use any USB that isn't trusted.. I mean if its from a surplus store you can be sure the memory is faulty or second tier... I always stress everything I use before putting it into production.. ChkFlsh.zip is what I use.. You will have to locate it.. The cheap USB I just bought wont even boot up FreeNAS.. It also has no device id/name.. So kind of annoying in BIOS.. Using a Kingston here.. Rock solid..

Also do a clean (non-quick) format (FAT32) before doing the image install.. Ensure a clean USB..

I had that yesterday with an msi Z87-G41 MB. Luckily it had ps/2 ports too, so I used an old style Keyboard...

I'm going to try a pci usb card Monday. It may just be usb on the mb not working... I had to add a nic too, the mb nic didn't work either.

I followed the link and thought it must be the USB Stick.
I purchased a SATA to SD Converter and boot from a SD card now .... Works fine

Thanks
