Wouldn't the jail prevent access to the printer? Setting up CUPS-PDF is fairly straight forward.

I've gotten' my print server to work pretty flawlessly in the jail. Granted, my printer is a network printer, however, so YMMV for other printers.

Now, if only the scanning function would work through SANE, then it would be perfect... Unfortunately, I couldn't figure that part out yet.

That would be a really nice jail(or even non-jail) function. I have a network printer that I rarely use because I always forget to setup the print server.

Yeah, I set the print server up instead of using the printer directly, mainly so that I can serve windows drivers automatically to users that install the printer through the CIFS network so they don't have to manually hunt for drivers on the Internet. Also, it ensures that everyone on the network is running the same version of drivers. It's quite handy.

I suppose this is an odd request, but it is something that I could use. ( for 8.3.1 Rp2)
I would like to see a version 2.03 of transmission (it would be a downgrade ), its one of the only approved transmission clients for several of my private trackers. ( due to other versions reporting back "bad" data). Since I know nothing about creating my own pbi I figured I would post here and maybe get this idea picked up.

Ok so i can say that with the new Jail system it is a piece of cake to run ZNC in 5 minutes ...

Create a portjail
jexec to that jail
under root (in the jail) run pkg_add -r znc and wait
switch to another user (znc will not start under root)
run znc --makeconf and go through the wizzard
Enjoy ZNC ^^

Any chance we could get a Teamspeak 3 server implementation for the pbi? I see some support for linux and freebsd for the sdk, not sure how easy it would be to configure but I would sure enjoy having an always on Teamspeak server for some of my game guilds.
