Do I need to reinstall FreeNAS after hardware upgrade?

I will be upgrading my machine in the next few weeks, and im wondering if i will need to reinstall Freenas on the new machine and import my volumes? or will i just be able to plug in my boot USB and my drives and get going?

You should just be able to plug everything in and it should work.*

*only exception is your boot order setup in the BIOS of the new hardware (might have to tweak that) and your NIC, you might have to configure that.

I altered my hardware twice the past year. Both times I did not bother to keep the installation. Just saved my configuration, reinstalled and loaded my configuration. Takes about 20 minutes and no hassles. The last time I took the opportunity to do away with the USB stick and install FreeNAS on a small SSD.

Yes, FreeNas makes new hardware easy. you may need to fix your IP addresses because of new NIC but that's about it.
