Hi. So far I am using a windows 2003 server and I was thinking of replacing it with freenas to share our files. In addition to file sharing, I connect remotely from outside my network using teamviewer to this windows server and open a web browser to connect to another linux server and manage it. Is it possible to do this with freeNas?

Thanks a lot.

If you're asking specifically whether it's possible to connect to the FreeNAS box with TeamViewer, then run a web browser on the FreeNAS box to manage other resources, the answer to both questions is "no." However, with version 12, it's possible to run an OpenVPN server on your TrueNAS (same product, new name) box, even if I'd prefer running services like that on your router. Once you're connected to that, assuming the VPN is properly configured, you can run a browser on the machine you're connecting from to manage whatever else on your LAN you want.
