dmesg and mount logs are years old

Today I noticed that in /var/log/, dmesg.today, dmesg.yesterday, mount.today, and mount.yesterday logs are all multiple years old. At least I can seen see that mount.today contains long obsolete information. Are they no longer used? Can I delete them?

I would at least like to know whether everybody else's system is like this or not. If you read this, please take a moment to look at your logs and post roughly how old these files are:
