Displaying CLI created folders in GUI

Hi Guys

Noob here.

I have created a bunch of folders using the CLI in my mnt\VolName folder. Problem is that these does not get populate in my Storage Manager in the WebGUI? Do I need to perform a certain task to have this happen?

Folders doesn't appear in the web GUI, only datasets and pools (volumes), it's normal.

And you shouldn't use the CLI to do that anyway.

Hi. Thanks. It was not my 1st choice. It was the result of using rsync to copy from datasets on a failing drive to a new drive. Should have obviously created the datasets prior on the new drive.

Just to be clear, it's best not to use the CLI to do ZFS operations such as creating datasets, but creating folders from the CLI is absolutely fine.

Excepted that you'll probably mess up the permissions of the folders if you do that.

I guess if you're working with a dataset that's shared via CIFS it could be an issue.
