Hello everyone, I am new to TrueNAS and have a DDNS question.
Trying to share my NAS with others outside my home network and my ISP offers dynamic IP.
So, I tried to leverage DNSEXIT to give him a URL to connect to my TrusNAS pool.
Not sure why the IP address will not automatically refresh after setting up in TrueNas service with username and password, etc..
(typed 8.8.8.8 manually for account setup, but after enabling the dynamic DNS service in TrueNas, the IP address stay the same. This is what I learned from a YouTube video.)
Anyone has any advice? Should I put my home network IP (the same IP to manage TrueNas backend) given by TrueNas in the IP address? (i.e. 192.168.0.xxx)
or I should put the dynamic IP assigned by my ISP?
Thanks!
