DataSet Permissions Checkboxes Greyed Out

I'm pretty noob, sorry.

Transmission is giving an error when trying to write files. I think it's because the "Write" box isn't checked for "Other" on the data Transmission's jail is linked to. However when I try to change the permissions all of the check boxes are greyed out. I tried clearing my brower's cache/cookies etc. and also rebooting the NAS; no luck.

Suggestions?

If permission type is set to Windows it will grey out the check boxes.

So it seems it's not just Transmissions but my other jails are also unable to write. How can I let them write then if the boxes are greyed out? Can you add a user to the jails?

You can do it at the command. If the permissions have a "+" after them you will have to run:

setfacl -b /path/to/change

This is beyond me....


But I fixed it anyway!
I found a FreeNAS video on youtube for Transmission and what it said was to connect to the dataset with Windows and change the permissions in the Security tab and that worked. Thanks guys
