Hi all
I'm facing a problem with permission giving to datasets.
my target setup is as follow:
User 1 to access Share 1/2/3/4
User 2 to access Share 1/3/4
User 3 to access Share 2/4
User 4 to access Share 3/4
User 5 to access Share 4
also on user 1 folders 1/2/3 have to be mapped in one net drive in windows.
To achieve this I did create 2 datasets in zvol Share(dataset) 1 and 4 and within dataset 1 created 2 others 2 and 3.
also created 3 user groups each of them for user 3/4/5 leaving user 1/2 as wheel group with the root.
Created 5 users 1/2/3/4/5 where:
user1 member of wheel with aux group 3/4/5
user2 member of wheel with aux group 4/5
user3 member of Group3 with aux group 5
user4 member of Group4 with aux group 5
user5 member of Group5
on storage permissions I set the following permissions:
Zvol/Dataset1 owner root - RWX /group wheel - RWX / others ----
Zvol/Dataset1/Dataset2 owner User3 - RWX /group Goup3 - RWX / others ----
Zvol/Dataset1/Dataset3 owner User4 - RWX /group Goup4 - RWX / others ----
Zvol/Dataset4 owner User5 - RWX /group Goup5 - RWX / others ----
added CIFS shares for each dataset.
after all this I could access only share 4 (dataset4) with any of the users because I have set the aux group in them and also with root all of them. its strange because User1 is also member of wheel but with aux group 1/2/3 that normally should access same as root is not accessing the other shares except 4. also User 3 that is owner of dataset 2 is not able to get in that.
any idea guys?????
