Data Corruption with .nkx files

Hi everyone,

I have a Freenas server with a Seagate Ironwolf 2TB Disk. I transferred about 270gb from the external hard disk from my mac. All the files transferred correctly, but .nkx files had some problems. I have 8gb of RAM and an intel quad core processor.

There's an alert saying: "Pool HDD2TB state is ONLINE: One or more devices has experienced an error resulting in data corruption. Applications may be affected.."

This is my zpool status -v after i did the scrub of the pool.

There's no point in doing a scrub of this pool. It does not appear to have any redundancy, therefore nowhere to recover corrected bits from.

"8gb of RAM and an intel quad core processor" is a poor description of your system. Please post a more detailed description of your system. The Forum Rules, conveniently linked at the top of every page, contains some pointers for how to construct a more useful description of your system.

Please also provide some information on what the results from your burn-in of the system were, in particular whether it passed a minimum of several days of memtest86. While it is possible that something specific happened to "nkx" files, it is more likely that there was some temporal event where these files were all being written and the disk was having troubles or memory got corrupted.

Hi, thanks for the help. I solved the problem.

I ran memtest86 and discovered that one bank of RAM was corrupted. I replaced the RAM that was faulty and now everything works fine.
