I'm new to FreeNAS and have setup a whole disk RAIDZ by disabling the configuration of swap partitions on my ZFS volume. I did this because I want maximum interoperability in case I need to mount the RAIDZ on another platform in case of emergency.

So right now, I've got no swap and 8Gb of RAM. Just for safety in the event that FreeNAS decides it needs to swap, I was wondering if there is a way to create a swap partition on my boot flash. I installed from CD to a 16Gb flash drive. Surely there must be 4 or 8 Gb of unused free space there that I can use to create a swap partition.

Has anyone done ever done this and if so are there instructions anywhere? I'm a FreeBSD n00b.
