"Create A New Volume" IS the creation of a new zPool, Right?

Just to be 100% clear, "Create A New Volume" in the GUI "IS" the creation of a new zPool, Right?

I have been going through the manual, AND noobsauce80's slide show here:

I get that HDD's go into vDev's, and vDev's go into zPools. I would have thought that "Create a New zPool" button would have been more consistent with the literature.

Sorry, I am not trying to be anal about this - it just leaves it open for possible confusion.

But do I under stand this correctly; that creating a 'New Volume" is the same as creating a "New zPool"?

Correct. The confusion is that this section of the GUI supports the creation of both a UFS volume and a ZFS pool and there's not really a concise way to say that in a small amount of GUI space.
